11th Battalion of Essex Regiment index

Regimental Information

The 11th (Service) Battalion of the Essex Regiment was raised in September 1915 and began training at Shoreham Camp in Sussex.

In July 1915 the Battalion moved to Aldershot and in August 1915 there arrived in France where they served for the duration of the war as part of 71st Brigade.

The battalion was formally demobilised in June 1919.
