2nd Essex Garrision Battalion - Some men who served
The 2nd Garrison Battalion did not serve on the front line although they were stationed in India for most of the Great War and suffered more casualties from illness than enemy action.

In Trouble
Private George Eastwood of the Essex Garrison Battalion appeared at West London Police Court on a charge of Assault.
It was said that he was worse for drink at the time. Eastwood claimed to have been at the front on three occasions, been wounded twice and was suffering from frost bite.
He was remanded in custody.
