44th Essex Presentation of Crimea medals 1855
On 18 May 1855 the Queen personally presented Crimea War medals to Officers of the armed forces at Horse Guards, London.
After the presentation the Queen received the non commissioned officers and men at Buckingham Palace where they were entertained in the gardens and then provided with a dinner in the riding school.
Dinner consisted of Roast Beef, Plum Pudding and stout in abundance!
