The 14th EVR was formed in June 1860 when Lt Colonel Barnard William Cocker ( late of 38th Foot) was gazetted as Lieutenant
The Unit seemed not to have prospered as it closed and 23 men transferred to the 13th EVR at Stour Valley.
In 1892 the Unit was reformed at the Manningtree Volunteers.
Commanding was Col Howard with support from Lt Cross. The Surgeon was Dr S Mugford.
